 What is Chairity?

Chairity is an annual event hosted by two where creative volunteers auction off their designs in order to raise money for our community.

The rules are simple: take a used or forgotten piece of furniture and give it a new life. Participants can deconstruct, re-upholster, and reinvent their “chair” using whatever means available to them. On October 24th 2024, anyone can take one of these new designs home with them by bidding online or during our live auction. All our proceeds go toward local non-profit organizations shown below.

#givetwochairity

We believe in the power of design and creativity to give back to our community. Each year, we select a few local, Bay Area non-profits to support through the funds we raise through Chairity.

2024 causes.

Girls Garage

Established in 2013, Girls Garage is a nonprofit design and construction school for girls and gender-expansive youth ages 9-18. Through classes in carpentry, welding, architecture, and activist art, they support and equip a community of fearless youth who are building the world they want to see.

Muttville

Muttville reaches out to senior dogs at risk, gives them the care they need, and finds them loving forever homes. Their cage-free facility, which is the first in the nation, foster program, on-site veterinary suite, and hospice program are innovations that have been lauded and emulated around the country. No dog should spend their last days in a shelter. There is so much love and joy in these dogs!

Hamilton Families

Hamilton Families’ mission is to end family homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our pioneering homelessness prevention and housing subsidy programs are nationally recognized. In addition, we provide shelter and transitional housing to families in times of need and support the well-being of children experiencing homelessness.

Project Color Corps

Project Color Corps believes color is a change agent that infuses a sense of well-being, joy, and equity into our surroundings. By transforming environments through “optical optimism,” Project Color Corps brings beauty and possibility to students, schools, and communities in largely underserved neighborhoods around the country.

Since 2017, Chairity has raised over $500,000 for our local community partners who are dedicated to change.
